Where AppForge wins, and where it doesn't
An honest map of the mobile build-and-ship market. The takeaway: every existing tool covers a slice — building, or low-code, or distribution. Nobody is AI-native end-to-end, and App Center's retirement left a hole. That's the gap AppForge fills.
Feature matrix
| Capability | AppForge | Expo / EAS | Codemagic | Bitrise | FlutterFlow | App Center |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI generates the app from a description | Yes | No | No | No | Visual, manual | No |
| Cloud iOS + Android builds | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Via export | Retired |
| OTA / hot-patch updates | Bundled | EAS Update, MAU-metered | No | No | No | CodePush (split off) |
| Store submission assistance | Guided | EAS Submit (upload only) | Publish step | Deploy step | Export only | No |
| Self-maintaining (describe-a-change) | Yes | No | No | No | No | No |
| Flat pricing (no per-minute meter) | Yes | Build credits + usage | $0.10/min | Minutes/concurrency | Per-seat | n/a |
| No vendor lock-in (standard RN/Expo output) | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Flutter, code export paid | Data lost at sunset |
| Bypasses Apple/Google identity verification | No (nobody can) | No | No | No | No | No |
The last row is the honest line every vendor shares: identity verification is the stores' gate, not a tooling feature. AppForge automates everything else.

The gaps we exploit
Nobody is AI-native end-to-end
Every competitor assumes you already have the app. AppForge generates it, builds it, ships it, and maintains it. The build tools and the AI builders live in different products — we merged them.
App Center's 4M+ orphans
Microsoft retired App Center; builds and distribution died March 2025, analytics ends June 2026. Those teams need build + OTA + distribute in one place. AppForge is that one place.
Per-minute pricing is hated
Build-credit meters (Expo) and per-minute Mac VMs (Codemagic $0.10/min) make costs unpredictable. Running our own free-CI backend lets us charge flat — Studio $79 vs Expo Production $199.
The OTA tax
EAS Update meters by monthly active users; CodePush got split off. AppForge bundles OTA hot-patches into every paid tier — no separate MAU bill.
